This web site is currently under construction, and will take some time...and a little patience (just like the house itself). We hope that you will keep visiting, as the web pages become full. The tabs at the top of each page give you an idea of our intentions for this site.
Straw & Mud - The story of our home 'The Abbey' a 250 square metre construction, using straw bale infill walls...mud render on the walls & floor, and a fully engineered steel frame.
Jo's Music - That's me Josephine (aka Jo Lawrence...among other names once a professional singer / entertainer. It will have samples of my recordings for visitors to our site to enjoy(jazz/ musical theatre & soft rock...basically easy listening)...plus the story of my career...which for those who think they know me...should make some very interesting reading.
Art Gallery - This will have images of paintings in our home, some of which can be purchased. We are also very blessed to have some wonderful artist friends.
Photo Gallery - A part--time passion for me since childhood has been photography. This will contain pictures of birds, the diverse Australian landscape, flowers and interesting old buildings...the subject matter is endless. It will definitely not contain any family album snaps.
MS - My Story - Simply...I have Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) a debilitating auto immune disease, which affects the myelin sheath surrounding the nerves. On these pages I will be telling my personal story and battle with this disease. Don't be expecting any doom and gloom story...my philosophy is that a positive attitude is essential..
On 2 Wheels - Peter's passion is motorcycling, luckily so is mine. Combine that with my passion for photography/ cinematography...and we have images (travel documentary type) of our travels to various parts of Australia on our Kawazaki ZRX 1200. "From the back of the Bike" is the primary theme...all footage is from the pillion's perspective (we see a lot more than the rider)
Products - We breed parrots - mostly a variety of Australian natives, and a number of Indian Ringnecksof various colours. We also propogate a variety of succulents/ cacti, please contract us for what may be available in birds and plants. Email: theabbey@westnet.com.au
